THE TIMBER WOLF COAT, v4

And I don't mean that bad. This thing is 10 different kinds of warm. This is actually the second Wildcoat I own. I have the Grizzly Bear too. I liked it so much I had to have another. I love this thing. It's warm and it looks great. It is VERY well constructed. Sturdy. Huge pockets everywhere. I love the versatility with being able to remove different parts of it.
If you are an attention whore like me, this thing is a dream. Everyone will stop and comment or ask about it. Everyone. So get used to that. I can't count the selfies taken.
If I had one thing, and this is being nitpicky...the outer hand pockets need to be angled down rather than "square" like they are now. When you put you hands in the pockets, it forces them to an odd angle that doesn't let your arms hang down naturally. Other the that, I'm all for this thing. Looking forward to a fox version.
These coats make me look forward to winter.

I got the XS, which fits well (I'm 5'4" and 123 lbs), but is a little loose at the hips/waist. Wished they had an inner cinch cord, but wasn't a big issue. Sleeves are too long but can be tightened at the wrist. However, the mittens are also too long and no adjustments can be made for that. Fortunately, wearing winter gloves gives me just enough length and grip to prevent the mittens from sliding off. And if I was too lazy to use gloves/mittens, then the sleeves kept my hands warm enough on their own (since the sleeve was too long). I had winter gloves, which was probably overkill. I didn't even need the mittens. They do attach easily via magnet to stow out of the way, which is a nice feature. But they get cold quickly if you don't use them. Took a point off for the sleeves and mittens.

The coat is heavier than I anticipated. It's also very bulky and doesn't compress like a puffer does. Keep that in mind if you are traveling with it. I used it as a seat cushion on my flight, which wasn't terribly comfortable.

Major points for warmth. It kept me very warm. I was in Alaska, down to about zero degrees Fahrenheit. I only wore a baselayer and this coat, and was warm. I was outside for an hour looking at the northern lights. My feet got cold though.

Hood is adjustable and kept my head warm but needed a balaclava for the face. Neck was a bit wide on me too, so the balaclava was necessary.

Zippers were smooth. Despite catching some of the fur, they still opened relatively easily.

My main gripes would be the outer front velcro pockets which is where I docked another point. The velcro is hard to open, especially with gloves on. And if you weren't wearing gloves, the outer velcro is really stiff and could rub against your hand and scratch it. My hand got raw from rubbing against the velcro while trying to take my phone in/out. Similarly the inner pockets velcro were hard to open. Wished they used zippers instead. The outer side pocket for your hands was too shallow. Hands barely fit in there. Definitely can't fit any phones, which is meant to go into the velcro pockets. The pocket was surprisingly warm. Other coat pockets might not be insulated but these felt warm.

I rolled around in some snow and the jacket came out clean. It didn't snow or rain while I was there so couldn't test the weather resistance. I didn't feel any wind, but there wasn't much wind on my travel days.

You definitely get compliments or looks everywhere you go. Overall 3/5. Would get 5/5 if they fixed the sleeves/mittens, the velcro pockets, and added a waist cinch. Definitely a fun jacket and worked well for my Alaska trip.

The quality and craftsmanship really makes you feel like you’re ready to enter world of Warcraft. Feels like real fur from a real wolf!

This coat is a blast. You will get stopped for pictures. Moreover, it is high-quality and super warm. I love the pull-back glove feature. I highly recommend Wild Coats if you're looking for high quality and a ton of fun.
